Abdalla Abdikarim – The Founder of Haldoor Academy

Somali students have always possessed a strong thirst for knowledge. However, we recognized a gap – a lack of readily available resources to develop the practical skills crucial for success in the job market. That’s why, in 2019, my friend Abdirahman and I founded Haldoor Academy with the clear mission of becoming the “Home of Skills” for Somali learners.

Our mission was to empower Somali students by equipping them with the tools they needed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application. We envisioned a platform where students could access high-quality courses on in-demand skills, all delivered in their native language.

Building Haldoor Academy wasn’t easy, but it was fueled by our commitment to our community. Today, we’re proud to say we’ve achieved significant milestones. Haldoor Academy has become the leading Somali e-learning platform, offering a diverse range of skill-based courses in Somali and English.

We’ve moved beyond the limitations of traditional methods and a lack of Somali-language resources. Now, students can actively develop the practical skills they need to excel in their chosen careers, all on a user-friendly platform.

This is just the beginning for Haldoor Academy. We have ambitious plans to expand our course offerings and reach a wider range of Somali learners. We believe that fostering practical skills is essential for success, and we’re dedicated to providing Somalis with the tools they need to build fulfilling careers and empower their communities.
